For all of you who were able to join us for AsherCon 2023 (in person, or on-line). It was an amazing experience and unlike anything I’ve seen before. As I walked around and talked to people, I heard stories and shared laughs. Never have I heard such a noisy funeral. Everyone was talking and excited. Dad jokes being shared and laughs about lives. I was beautiful and I’m sure Asher would have had a good time.
And mad props to the food! Salads, Ham and Cheese sandwiches and desserts… for like miles! Amazing. Thank you for attending. Thank you for helping.
Thank you for celebrating our amazing son, brother, nephew and friend. We hope you found something new you could enjoy in your life forever.
Asher Wilcox moved on from this mortal toil on April 25th, 2023. To honor his fight, courage and willingness to drop weapons grade puns at the least appropriate time, we’re putting together a convention. We’ll tell his story and engage in quality booths of some his favorite earthly joys. We hope this review of his life can connect you to things you could have shared and bring you joy for years to come.
The last few months were full of hospital visits, doctors and professional vampires. These were softened by judicious application of donuts and a collection of people who specialized in working with children in the hospital. These Child Life Specialists awakened a passion in Asher. Being able to play games for a living… WITH KIDS!? A+, 10/10, would do again.
To that end we ask you refrain from gifting flowers or cash to the family and instead encourage you to donate to Child’s Play Charity in his name. These folks make it their jobs to see that kids have some baddies to smash, a cute face to digitally pinch or art equipment to express their opinions on their disease.
